This portrait in the Museo Capitlino (inv. MC475) , is commonly identified as Gordian I.

Maybe, but I think this may be an example of an attempt to find a plausible candidate for an emperor living during a time interval assigned to a portrait based on sculpture style. While there is some similarity between this and portraits of Gordian on coins, it seems unlikely that this portrait was meant to represent a 79 year old man. While numismatic images of Gordian show no wrinkles, they do show drooping eyebrows and bags under they eyes. - Bill
